The municipality of Sant Aniol of Finestres is the most northern of the valley and is located specifically in the northwest of it. Sant Aniol de Finestres forms part of the county of la Garrotxa. It has an area of 47.7 km2 and nearly three quarters are forest domain, forming a rough and rugged landscape in the hillsides. This is an ideal place for lovers of hiking and climbing. The municipality is composed by the villages of Sant Aniol, Sant Esteve de Llémena and La Barroca.
