Josep Bosch i Puy “PICULIVES”
Born in the region of "La Selva", Piculives was an artist from around the region. Unhappy with the urban world, he sought refuge in several towns of Girona, seeking the balance of nature for inspiration. This is how Josep Bosch came to St. Martí de Llémena in 1971, a period that coincides with the utmost dedication to sculpture.
His work is identified by the grandeur of their parts and the diversity of materials used, especially in large blocks of stone. The life cycle is the recurring theme in many of his pieces, and takes the woman and the earth as major symbolic elements. Several public works demonstrate his artistic creativity: The Lady of la Garrotxa, the monument to Sant Martí, the monument to Amer's musicians or the homage to Pablo Casals in Girona and other sculptures.
