Route 4 MTB. From Sant Gregori to Cartellà

circular route
Distance: 18km
Ascent: 300m +
Difficulty: medium

The route mainly runs through the Sant Gregori municipality, and also covers a small section of the Canet d'Adri municipality. The route leaves from the "Centre BTT" (Mountain Bike Centre), and runs through wooded areas and farmland. There ar no significant slopes along the route, except for a couple of short but steep sections. The route combines a mixture of dirt tracks, forest floor and asphalt path.

Along the route, or very close to the path (pay attention to the map), there are several heritage trees, such as the centennial oak at Can Serra at the befinning of the path. Leaving Canet you can see a rare botanical treasure - the cork oak at Mas Obert. You can deviate slightly from the route to see the restored church at Cartellà, Cartellà castle, and visit the nativity scene at Can Roseta.

Technical specification

The route runs through dirt tracks, forest floors and has some asphalt sections between woods and farmland. Some sections require you to have a good technical command of your bike (although they can always be covered on foot). This route joins with mountain bike route 12 and 13. You must wear a cycle helmet and bring enough food and drink for the circuit.
