Volcanos
Distributed throughout the Valley Llémena, from west to east, there are up to six volcanoes: the Medes volcano, the Puig Moner, the volcano of Granollers Rocacorba, The Banya del Boc, The Clot de l'Omera and the volcano of Adri. These volcanic manifestations are part of the Volcanic Catalan Field that showed activity from about 14 million years to almost 10,000 years only. Although the most famous volcanic zone corresponds to the accumulation of volcanoes in the vicinity of Olot, the Valley Llémena has a special importance due to the diversity of eruptive phenomena. The arrangement of these volcanoes is not random but associated with a series of faults that break the rock surface and facilitate the way for the rise of molten material from inland areas of the earth.
