Fauna
The fauna of the Vall de Llémena is split into those species typical to mountainous areas and the species that frequent areas more populated by humans. Amongst the mammals in the mountainous environments, there are wild boars (Sus scrofa), badgers (Meles meles), genets (Genetta genetta), foxes (Vulpes vulpes), wood mice (Apodemus sylvatica), roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) and squirrels (Sciurus vulgaris).
The most representative birds are the wood pigeon (Columba palumbus), the jay (Garrulus glandarius), the blackbird (Turdus merula), the robin (Erithacus rubecula), the great tit (Parus major) , the short-toed treecreeper (Certhia brachydactyla) ,the sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) and the tawny owl (Strix aluco) amongst others.
In the most populated areas close to fields there are rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus), hares (Lepus europaeus), least weasels (Mustela nivalis), red-legged partridges (Alectoris rufa), quails (Coturnix coturnix), magpies (Pica pica), song thrushes (Turdus philomelos) and chaffinches (Fringilla coelebs).
